In a recent development, Research in Flight has secured a six-month Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase-I contract from NASA. The focus of this collaboration is to integrate the NASA Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) into Research in Flight’s flagship product, FlightStream®.

The team at Research in Flight is committed to developing this integration as part of the ongoing advancements in the multidisciplinary features of the FlightStream® flow solver. The Phase-I initiative is set to commence immediately, with a timeline extending over the next six months. This period will culminate in December 2015, with the submission of a comprehensive report detailing the findings and prototype developments to NASA Glenn Research Center and NASA Langley Research Center.

Looking ahead, Research in Flight anticipates the release of the NPSS integrated toolbox within FlightStream® for its commercial users by the summer of 2016, marking a significant enhancement to its software capabilities.
